Singlehandedly

My feet are killing me. On tonight's shift, we were understaffed. Again. And I was floating between two units. Again. When will they realize we can't do everything?

Traveling Troubles

Anyone else dealing with resentment from staff nurses? I'm a travel RN and I swear it's like high school all over again. I am here to help, not steal your job.

Traveling not what it's cracked up to be

They allure you with the money but no one talks about the resentment from staff nurses or having to prove yourself at every new gig. I'm seriously thinking about going back to a permanent role. Anyone else feel this way?

Daylight Robbery

Just found out the new grad working nights on my unit is making more than me. And I've been on this floor for 6 years. Who’s idea was this? Honestly, I'm seething right now. Anyone else discovered something similar and what did you do?

Squeezed by the staffing

It's similar to running on fumes. A 12-hour shift feels like eternity and we still can't catch our breath. What's happening with these staffing ratios? Went from 1:4 to 1:6. It's disheartening and not fair. If the suits in management had to do a shift with this ratio, they'd probably drop. Wonder how others are coping with this.

4/5 stars - It's okay. Some good days, some tough days. Depends a lot on which unit you're on. Some managers are great, others not so much. Decent benefits.

2/5 stars - Very disappointing. Poor management, inadequate support, and unsafe working conditions. They don't value their staff. Many better options out there.

3/5 stars - Overall decent place to work. Some units are better than others. Management tries but sometimes staffing is tight. Pay is competitive though and benefits are good.

4/5 stars - I really enjoyed my time here. The staff was friendly and supportive. Management listened to our concerns and the ratios were generally good. Would definitely recommend to other nurses.
